One of Brisbane’s best-known river event vessels will make Colmslie Wharves its new home after becoming the first operator to secure a berth at the new purpose-built commercial marina.

Oasis Cruising will relocate its 35-metre steel catamaran, Oasis, to a berth on A Arm later this year.

The three-level floating entertainment venue can accommodate up to 550 guests and operates ticketed cruises on the Brisbane River each weekend, as well as private charters, corporate functions and celebrations.

Oasis Cruising owner David Auld said Colmslie Wharves would provide the vessel and its crew with a secure, purpose-built operational base close to the city.

“A reliable permanent base is critical for a vessel such as Oasis, which operates throughout the year and can welcome hundreds of guests aboard for each event,” David said.

“Colmslie Wharves gives us the commercial facilities we need in a location that works extremely well for our operations, while keeping us within easy reach of Brisbane’s major riverfront destinations.

“It will give our crew a dedicated berth from which to prepare and provision the vessel between cruises, and we are very excited to make Colmslie Wharves our new base.”

Oasis recently visited Colmslie Wharves for a practice run, giving the crew an opportunity to inspect its future home.

Raptis Investments Director Arthur Raptis said securing Oasis as the marina’s first tenant was a major milestone for the project.

“Oasis is exactly the kind of established Brisbane marine tourism operator Colmslie Wharves was created to support,” he said.

“It is a substantial commercial vessel that brings thousands of people onto the Brisbane River each year and contributes to the city’s tourism, hospitality and events economy.

“Welcoming Oasis as our first tenant is an important vote of confidence in the marina and a tangible demonstration of the role Colmslie Wharves can play in supporting the growth of Brisbane’s commercial marine industry.

“We look forward to seeing Oasis at its new berth and welcoming more commercial operators to Colmslie Wharves.”

Located at Morningside, just 9 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, Colmslie Wharves provides 50 secure berths for tourism, charter and other commercial vessels operating on the Brisbane River and across Moreton Bay.

The marina has been designed around the day-to-day requirements of commercial operators, with facilities including on-water refuelling, sewage pump-out, waste management, secure access, parking and areas for provisioning vessels.

Colmslie Wharves is being developed and will be operated by Raptis Investments.
